Repetitive behaviours such as squinting, laughing, habitual frowning and tensing our muscles in response to a negative situation all cause our skin to crease and when our skin creases it causes facial wrinkles to form.
Putting botox and other cosmetic surgeries aside, by employing these helpful tips on a daily basis, you can help to reduce the appearance of wrinkles whilst improving and maintaining the condition of your skin…
Get a good night’s sleep. Sleep deprivation can result in puffiness of the face, dark circles and bagginess under the eyes.
Beware the UV Rays
The sun’s ultra violet rays give off free radicals, responsible for turning your skin pink and causing wrinkles, so when the sun is shining wear your sunglasses and a wide-brimmed hat that covers your face. Protect your skin by applying sunscreen (at least an SPF 30) around your eyes and the rest of your face every day. If you’re not doing so already, start implementing it in your beauty routine straight away.
Stop squinting! If you work at a computer and find yourself squinting, wear your glasses, get a bigger monitor or increase the size of your font – habitual squinting will only make the lines around your eyes (and forehead) worse.
Laughter or character lines (aka crow’s feet) appear on the thinnest and most delicate area of skin on our face, around the eyes and because this area doesn’t produce oil like the rest of your skin does, you need to supply it with moisture and hydration. The Charlie Locks Exceptional Eye Gel – with its aloe vera base, hyaluronic acid, camellia and Roman chamomile ingredients – helps to smooth fine lines and reduce puffiness. Available directly from the Treatment Room by Luminosity, the gel can be used throughout the day and the advanced pen packaging means you can simply pop it in your hand bag and you’re good to go!
